Kamal Thapa Nepali top politician born 4 August 1955 he is the currently Chairman of royalist Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal. He served as a Home Minister during King Gyanendra's direct rule in 2006 until the king was forced to handover power to Girija Prasad Koirala of the Nepali Congress Party and his allies with Communist Party of Nepal and Unified Communist Party of Nepal. He is a M.A in Political Science- Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. Course on ‘Management and Administration, Chelsea, School of Human Movement, Brighton Polytechnic, United Kingdom.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party- Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa was injured during a clash with police in Hetauda on Tuesday. Lawmaker Thapa has sustained injuries in his head. Fifteen other RPP-N cadres have been hurt in the incident.

Earlier in the morning, Thapa’s brother and lawmaker from RPP-N, Ganesh Thapa, had also sustained injuries when his team tried to obstruct the feedback collection programme at Hetauda-based Palpasa hall.

Disgruntled Kamal Thapa arrived at the venue after other lawmakers were injured in the clash with police. DSP Sishu Sharma said 19 police and six people were injured after the cadres of RPP-Nepal pelted stones. After two hours of obstruction, the feedback collection resumed at Palpasa Hall.
