This is a an inspiring story of 21 years young sherpa from Solukhumbu, Nepal, who has lost his mother at the age of five. Facing the difficulties in the family for survival, he started working in a hotel and then he managed to study up to class eight. Left his village for Kathmandu when he was 15 and start working in a bike shop in Thamel. He run Marathons, Ultra Marathons and challenged the bike championships. He has won many Marathons and biking challenges. Please watch the video of "Story of Inspiration - Ngawang Dawa Sherpa (Cyclist) and share it. CYCLING AND EDUCATING is the theme of my cycling expedition which you could find out at my blog. I will be pulling my fully loaded bike to 18 different countries of the Schengen area. I am expecting to cycle 5000 kms during my 2 and half months long expedition.
There are two main causes for my cycling expedition. The first cause is I am suporting Amnesty International and advocating the theme "Stop Violence Againt Women" as we hear everyday the news about the violence against women whether it is from Delhi rape scandal or the German sex scandal with the child.
Second and most important cause of my expedition is donating a computer and set up a library in a community school named Shaileswori Primary School, in the far Western Remote Village of Nepal. We enjoy all the modern gadgets of the time, from ipod, ipad, tablet, smart phones to laptops and macbook where as the students from that school have never seen a computer physically, they read on books and see the picture to imagine how the computer looks like.
would like to remind you all 2 important things. If you would like to support my first cause (Amnesty International), please donate via this just giving page. or, if you are more concerned about my second cause (building a library and donating a computer to a school) please, donate through paypal link on my blog or deposit your help on the account number provided on the blog.
Donating through JustGiving and paypal is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.
Hope to hear from you all soon.
Many thanks,
